What does it mean to dream in a dream?

 

Another poem of mine : ) part of which I had scribbled somewhere sometime…finished it and posting here..

What does it mean to dream in a dream?

 

Tonight in my dreams,

I saw a child sitting by the sea

And as I looked keenly, I saw it was me

In that dream he heaped his emotions with hands

To make his castle, like a child on the sand

In that dream it looked like a palace

Where joy blossomed and love brew

In little rooms and tiny corridors

Chandeliers swung and curtains flew

Behind the flowing curtains, ah! I imagined you

In that dream I dreamt of you.

 

And what does it mean,

To dream in a dream?

Does it mean a farthest thought -

A desire that will not be got

Or a love that is so pure -

A simple nod – scared, silent, insecure

No worldly sanctions, nor mature

So shy of all, in dreams it crawls.

 

If I shouldn’t,

Then let me not strove

Cure me of it,

 I think it’s Love.
